VIDEO: Sen. Scott Brown Visits Seekonk

U.S. Sen. Scott Brown visited Seekonk on Wednesday to give a special citation to Seekonk Save a Pet and to deliver a flag that honors the town's 200th anniversary.

Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) and State Rep. Steve Howitt (R-Seekonk) made a joint visit to Seekonk Wednesday morning to honor the town's 200th anniversary as well as the 25th anniversary of Seekonk Save a Pet Society.

Town Clerk Jan Parker was presented with a United States flag that had been flown over the State House on behalf of the town in honor of its 200th anniversary. The continues throughout the year.

Parker said the flag will be displayed in the Town Hall lobby in a case.

Patricia Cloutier, President of the Save a Pet Society, and Sharonlynne Hall, Seekonk's Animal Control officer, were presented with an official citation honoring Save a Pet's 25th anniversary and their work with the shelter.

“Their extraordinary commitment for finding a safe shelter to animals as well as finding them a loving home is truly appreciated," said Sen. Brown.
