Truro's Town Administrator Taking Over Seekonk Post

Pamela Nolan will replace current town administrator Michael Carroll when he retires next month.

Seekonk has a new town administrator starting July 17.

The Seekonk Board of Selectmen approved the hiring contract of Pamela Nolan, the current town administrator in Truro, MA, during last Wednesday's meeting. An appointed search committee aided in the hiring process.

Nolan is resident of Orleans, MA, and has more than 25 years of progressive senior level management experience in both private and public sectors, according to her resume. She has experience in labor relations, human resources, media and public relations and managerial responsibilities. She's also skilled in coastal problems and functions.

According to her employment contract, she will earn an annual salary of $106,000 in Seekonk. 

In Truro, she oversaw 15 departments, prepared and oversaw a $16 million budget, lead negotiations for three public sector unions, acted as a director of human resources, built a $4 million community center, and was responsible for insurance needs, reads the resume.

She also worked as a town manager in Plymouth and Westerly, R.I. She was an executive administrator in Weymouth and chief of staff to the mayor of Rome, NY.

She recieved her bachelor's of arts degree from State University of New York College in Buffalo, N.Y., completed 40 hours of master's coursework at Indiana University and earned a certificate from Harvard University's Senior Executive Management Program.
