Stors to Run for At-Large School Committee Seat

The former school committee member used to be the representative in Ward 2.

Former Attleboro school committee member Jim Stors will be running in this year's At-Large school committee race.

Stors qualified for the At-Large ballot on June 20, according to the Attleboro Elections Department. He had also pulled papers for his former seat in Ward 2, but chose to run in the At-Large race, which will likely make William Larson's re-election campaign uncontested.

Larson beat-out Stors in 2011.

Stors is the first At-Large candidate to hand in his papers. David Murphy, Mariann Crisafulli, Barbara Craw, Nancy Lamothe, Stacey Haven, Sarah B. Curtis and Julienne L. Singer have also pulled papers.

In February, Stors said he was excited to once again throw his hat in the ring.

"I gained a lot of knowledge and experience when I served that I know will be an asset to the next school committee, and having just finished the interview portion as a member of the Superintendent Search Steering Committee I am excited about the future of our school district and would truly be honored to be able to serve Attleboro's children and families once again," he said.
