Snow Plow Insurance Changes Put Off Until Next Year

Selectmen determine it is too late in the year to change the snow plow application process.

The Seekonk Board of Selectmen voted 4-1 to keep the insurance requirements for the town’s snow plow vendors the same this year, rather than looking to increase the required coverage.

Robert Lamoureux of the Department of Public Works told the selectmen that it is too late to be changing the policy, as it could snow any time now.

“It’s not the 11th hour, it’s the 11th hour with 59 minutes and 59 seconds,” said Lamoureux later, adding “I have no objection to changing what we’re doing, but this is not the time to change it.”
