Senator Ross Recovers from Surgery; Thanks Supporters

Sen. Richard Ross is looking forward to getting back on his feet and out in the community.

Last weekend, throughout the United States, communities gathered in remembrance of the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

At each of these ceremonies, cities and towns came together to remember and honor the individuals who tragically lost their lives on that fateful day. This year, unfortunately, I was unable to attend the local ceremonies, as I was recovering from emergency knee surgery and a staphylococcus infection. This condition has significantly affected my mobility, and regrettably, made it impossible for me to attend the observances.

While I was unable to attend the services held in my district, the anniversary of the September 11th attacks remain on my mind and in my heart.  It is incredibly important to me that we honor those who lost their lives in the attacks, and keep the families affected by this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers. I know that the ceremonies held throughout the district provided a solemn testament to the memory of those individuals who passed that day.

I would also like to thank my constituents for the outpouring of support I have received these past weeks. Your messages of support and well wishes mean so much to me, and encourage me each day. I am looking forward to recovering from this setback, so that I can return to the local events in my district that I so enjoy. I hope you enjoy the beautiful changing of the seasons, and I look forward to seeing you in the near future.
