Senator Ross Falls at State House; Has Emergency Knee Surgery

Senator Richard Ross is recovering after his recent surgery.

Senator Richard Ross (R-Wrentham) was rushed to the hospital for emergency knee surgery on Friday, Sept. 5. He was treated for a torn meniscus and a staphylococcus infection in his left knee joint. 

Ross is currently recovering in the hospital. He will then undergo six weeks of antibiotic therapy for the infection.

Ross originally injured his knee in April after a fall at the State House. He had been recovering and undergoing regular physical therapy until his surgery this weekend.

 “I’m happy that we were able to address the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irene before I suffered this setback,” Ross said in a release. “It is important to me that I am able to give the concerns of my constituents my full attention. Fortunately, it looks as though I will be back on my feet for the start of the Senate session next week.”
