Selectmen Approve the Hiring of Firefighter and Laborer

Members approved the hiring of Christopher Sloan, a paramedic and firefighter, and Paul Proulx, a truck driver/laborer.

Seekonk Selectmen recently added a new firefighter and driver/laborer to the town's roster.

On Wednesday night, Selectmen approved the hiring of Christopher Sloan, a paramedic and firefighter. He is a Foxboro resident who is married with four children. Plans to hire four additional firefighters are still proceeding. Seekonk has relied on neighboring communities to assist with rescues.

Selectmen also approved a request from Superintendent of Public Works Bob Lamoureux to hire a truck driver/laborer. The new addition is Paul Proulx. According to department assistant Melissa Cota, he will start work on July 25 and earn $18.62 an hour.
