Seekonk Selectmen Back in Session

Take a look at what's happening in Attleboro and Seekonk.

1. The Seekonk Board of Selectmen will meet tonight for the first time since Sept. 19. This will be the first session with a five-member board since Bill Rice resigned in June. Nelson Almeida was elected Sept. 24 to fill Rice's seat. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. The agenda is attached to this article.

2. U.S. congressional candidates Sean Bielat and Joe Kennedy III will meet today in a 4 p.m. debate at UMass Dartmouth's Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center, located at 151 Marine St. in Fall River. Look for coverage of the event tonight on Attleboro-Seekonk Patch. After the debate, Bielat is headed to Seekonk, where he is expected to appear at a 6:30 p.m. "Town Hall" at 1149 Bar and Grill.

3. Don't forget that both congressional candidates will appear on Patch this week for live chat sessions. Be sure to have your questions ready on Thursday at 12 p.m. (Bielat) and Friday at 1 p.m. (Kennedy).

4. Seekonk Public Library will host an event tonight titled Creating Wealth: Stocking Up for the Long Haul as part of its new semester of savings and investment education through the Dollars & Sense program. The session will begin at 6:30 p.m.

5. There is a 60 percent chance of daytime rain, according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms are possible after 1 p.m. The forecast also includes cloudy skies and a high near 62. The cloudy skies are expected to continue into the night, when the temperature should drop to the low 40s.
