Second Seekonk School Committee Member Resigns

Fran Creamer will step down Dec. 21.

For the second time in two weeks, a Seekonk School Committee member has resigned. Fran Creamer announced at the meeting Monday night that she would step down Dec. 21 because she and her husband are moving to Jacksonville, Fla. David Quinn submitted a resignation letter Nov. 20 stating he planned to leave Seekonk.

Creamer has served on the committee since 2006. She also served from 1997 to 2000.

The Board of Selectmen and school committee will vote on replacements for Creamer and Quinn Dec. 19. School committee Chair Mitch Vieira said a notice would be placed on the school district and town's websites Tuesday morning with information on how people can apply. The application deadline will be Dec. 12.
