Rep. Kennedy Announces Attleboro Open House

The office is located on North Main Street.

Congressman Joe Kennedy III, whose 4th District includes Attleboro and Seekonk, announced Monday he will host an open house Saturday at his Attleboro office, located at 8 North Main St.

The public will have a chance to meet Kennedy and his district staff, according to a press release issued by the congressman's office. The event will begin at 1 p.m.

"Over the course of the campaign, I promised each and every one of you that my door would always be open," said Kennedy, according to the release. "I hope that [the open house] underscore our deep commitment to that promise, as well as my belief that constituent service is priority number one for elected officials."

He continued, "[The open house is] a great opportunity for individuals across the district to stop by, meet the team, and discuss the issues facing their families and communities."

An open house will also take place Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kennedy's Newton office, which is located at 29 Crafts St., Suite 375.

The long hard journey is over, now begins the long hard journey. Heart felt congratulations. The last sixmonths are a blur.
Amy January 08, 2013 at 01:56 PM
What hard journey? A job given to the boy at the Attorney Generals office because his name is Kennedy? Or an easy election because his name is Kennedy?. He's done nothing to earn it. The only thing I want is to have my fair share of my paycheck. That's it! No new taxes, no new regulations, no new laws. Just to be left alone. But I'll guarantee, that will be too much to ask. Jonathan why all these full page pictures and fluff pieces? Elizabeth Warren couldn't describe what middle class is. Can he?
Emcee of Seekonk January 08, 2013 at 02:09 PM
Amy, you've said it all for me. And about the long hard journey ahead mentioned by another poster. The kid committed himself to two years. If he doesn't like the job, he can slide through. No one will be the wiser. But, it is nice that Kennedy has opened an office in Attleboro so that all the Dems can crowd around him and wish him well.
paul January 08, 2013 at 04:09 PM
Amy, you sound like a jealous person. Do you hate people because of their last name or is it party affiliation? Why not give young Kennedy a chance? FYI the middle class has been gone for many years, I remember it when I was growing up in the 60's & 70's. Let me describe to you what it was. The husband worked, the wife stayed home, every family had a new car and went on vacation every year.
Amy January 08, 2013 at 04:19 PM
Paul, I don't "hate" anyone because of thier political affilation or last name. Nice try. What I don't like, is when people think they're entitled to something becasue of thier last name. I voted Democratic almost my entire life. then the Democrats became European Socialists. Again, I'm just asking for the Gvm't to leave me and my paycheck alone. Not really much to ask.
paul January 08, 2013 at 04:37 PM
How do you know what Joe Kennedy thinks, are you a woman scorned?
Amy January 08, 2013 at 04:40 PM
Paul what are you talking about and who said I know what he thinks? I have no idea what he's thinking nor do I care. I wish him luck. We'll see.
deb of see-attleboro January 08, 2013 at 05:06 PM
I agree with Amy. Nothing personal towards the Congressman. On the other hand, I think Patrick Kennedy has had a "long hard journey". Did anyone else see him on with O'reilly last night? Very impressive and I do wish him luck. (Of course, I think he should stay out of politics, though)
Emcee of Seekonk January 08, 2013 at 05:17 PM
Tell me, paul, are you jealous of Scott Brown and is that why you don't vote for him? Or do you hate Scott Brown, and is that why you won't vote for him?
Amy January 08, 2013 at 05:20 PM
Deb I did see both Patrick and his cousin. I'm sure it's been a struggle and I have to give them both credit for seeking help.
Emcee of Seekonk January 08, 2013 at 05:27 PM
Patrick Kennedy appears to have done quite well since his father died and he was able to get out of politics. I'm happy for him and I'm happy for RI.
paul January 08, 2013 at 05:30 PM
Amy, you said you don't like it when people think they're entitled to something because of their last name. How do you know Joe Kennedy feels that way?
paul January 08, 2013 at 05:35 PM
I like Scott Brown, and I always have. I voted for him the first time and I voted for other Republicans in the past. I would not rule out voting for someone because of their last name or their party.
Amy January 08, 2013 at 05:37 PM
Paul,do you think he would have won if it wasn't for his last name or party? I don't know what else he ran on.
paul January 08, 2013 at 05:51 PM
Just like George W. Bush, how do you think he got in? It's been going on since John Quincy Adams, nothing new. You are going to be an unhappy camper for the next 4 years, at least.
Richard W. Lunt January 09, 2013 at 02:26 AM
Joe Kennedy III has no private sector experience and has no idea how companies create jobs, the only reason he was elected is because he's a Kennedy. It was the sheep followers of the Kennedy's that elected him, the unions etc.
Daniel F. Devine January 09, 2013 at 08:53 AM
Joe Kennedy III can't be any worse than "Hot Bottom" Barney Frank or any of our other so called "leaders" we currently have in Washington. Give him a chance.
paul January 09, 2013 at 12:19 PM
It's not the governments job to create jobs, that's Socialism. I thought all you right wing fanatics were against Socialism. Joe won by a huge landslide, it was a stampede of sheep that voted him in. Only a poor sport would talk bad about Joe Kennedy at this point. New England is blue, get over it!
Emcee of Seekonk January 09, 2013 at 01:11 PM
@paul... "...stampede of sheep that voted him in." It is called mob mentality and it is dangerous.
Amy January 09, 2013 at 01:54 PM
Paul don’t underestimate the people of Massachusetts. When we need them to come through they do. Like when they elected Scott Brown to stop the socialization of our health care system. Unfortunately for the American people, the socialists in Gvm’t still shoved it down the American people’s throats against their will. The press only vet Republicans so it’s up to the small minority of the rest of us to vet Democrats and have our voices heard as well. We're not going away Paul and I know your not either.
