Pastor Bailey Planning State Senate Run

An official campaign announcement is expected next week.

The Pastor Jeff Bailey, a leader of  and an  , is expected to announce March 29 his campaign kickoff for the state senate race. He plans to run for the Bristol and Norfolk District seat.

The event is set for 7-9 p.m. at the Lafayette House on Route 1 in Foxborough.

Jeffrey Bailey filed paperwork with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance in November to explore the potential run.

"I have been encouraged by state leaders such as state Republican Committeewoman Angela Davis (of Foxborough) to run for the state Senate seat currently held by ," Bailey said at the time. "I am aggressively exploring the possibility of a candidacy. I believe my 23 years experience as a community leader in Attleboro provides me with a perspective that will translate well into public service."

Bailey lives in Attleboro with his wife, Lorraine, and he has two children, Andrea and Adam. He holds a bachelor’s degree in religious studies and a master’s degree in biblical studies.

A Michigan native, Pastor Bailey arrived at in 1988 after serving as an assistant pastor at a church in Washington state. He established Grace Baptist Christian Academy in 2001, and the school today offers organized educational programs for students in pre-kindergarten through Grade 12. Bailey served as the school’s first principal until being appointed its superintendent at the conclusion of the 2009-10 academic year.
