City Councilman Richard Conti introduced a measure this week that would officially prohibit bullying on all city property.
Conti said the matter was brought to him by the Attleboro Human Rights Commission. The measure, he said, would likely resemble that of the Attleboro School Department, which implemented an anti-bullying policy in 2010.
Conti said it would include cyber-bullying, outline a reporting procedure and outline investigative procedures.
He said he would leave it to the city council to turn the idea into city policy.
"What we really need is a statement saying that in Attleboro, bullying is not going to be tolerated," he said.
The matter was put before the Personel and Human Services Committee.
