Through her professional employment she has worked with public and private administration, community groups, teachers, parents and students to support new health initiatives, Title IX and to encourage over-achievement by her colleagues, students and co-workers.

She describers herself as a pragmatic leader who works hard to locate and implement new solutions to old problems.

Offerings

What makes Reynolds stand out? She strives to collaborate with individuals and groups to secure a "win win" solution.

"I have strong listening skills and am able to gain a lot from meeting with others," she said. "I then use the benefit of their knowledge and experience to learn how a policy will either support or impede the work at hand."

Her desire to represent Attleboro as a city councilor stems from a strong desire to keep Attleboro a safe and affordable place to live and for it to be a city that offers promise, opportunity and most importantly jobs.

Reynolds said she strongly believes that independent thinking and a strong desire to listen to and hear the voice of the Attleboro taxpayers is essential.

"No matter what is thrown my way I will listen to all sides and make the best decision for the citizens of Attleboro," she said.

Issues that Matter

If elected, Reynolds says her concerns would be those of the taxpayer.  She would like to review and reduce indirect fees including the current water and sewer fees.

Reynolds said the "double-dipping" of more than $1 million of water and sewer fees that currently help fund city positions which are already funded by taxpayer money needs to be evaluated.

She went on to say that checks and balances are the duty of elected officials and as such Attleboro City Councilors must be invested it. Reynolds pledges to evaluate every proposal on its merit and the positive or negative impact it would bring to Attleboro taxpayers and to work hard to promote and increase "legislative transparency" when evaluating proposals.

One of the most important issues in the coming year is economic development, according to Reynolds.

She is a strong supporter of bringing new industry to Attleboro to help rebuild the city's tax base and create jobs. Reynolds states that she will not support unwise proposals especially those that would expose retirees and tax payers to severe and unnecessary financial risk.
