Massachusetts Tourism Impacted by Shutdown

National parks, and historic sites throughout the state closed following shutdown.

The midnight government shutdown will affect tourism in Massachusetts. Several national historic parks and sites in the state have been closed.

The National Park Service said over the weekend that all parks would be closed starting Tuesday in the event of a government shutdown.

The following national parks and historic sites are currently closed:
  • Minute Man National Historic Park in Concord

  • Boston’s Faneuil Hall Visitor’s Center

  • The U.S.S. Constitution

  • The Bunker Hill Monument

  • The African Meeting House on Beacon Hill

  • The Old North Bridge in Concord

  • There will also be no guided tours along the Freedom Trail during the shutdown
  • The last time the government faced a shutdown was in 1995.
