Lt. Governor's Seekonk Visit Postponed

Timothy Murray was expected to be in town to tour a potential south end fire station site.

Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray's planned visit to Seekonk  has been postponed. He was expected to tour the Massachusetts Department of Transportation facility on Fall River Avenue that has been designated by the fire chief as the preferred location for a south end fire station.

Murray was invited to take the tour by state Sen. James Timilty, Board of Selectman Chair Francis Cavaco wrote in an article that appeared on Seekonk Patch last week.

Anne Rogers, town executive assistant, wrote in a Tuesday afternoon email:

I just received a call from Sen. Timilty’s Office, the Lt. Gov. has had an unexpected issue that has forced him to cancel the meeting scheduled for this Thursday at 3:00. He will call in the near future will a new date.
