Letter To Editor: Attleboro Councilor Walter J. Thibodeau

Attleboro Councilor Walter J. Thibodeau encourages residents to attend inauguration ceremonies.

Letter to Editor:

As I await the inauguration ceremonies of Municipal Officials, on January 3, 2012 at Attleboro High School, 7 p.m.. Bray Auditorium. I wish to express my thanks to all the residents of Ward No. 1 who elected me to be their Ccouncilman for the next two years.

In preparation for this position I have decided to relinquish my position on the council as its vice president so as to concentrate on resolving the problems that now exist in our ward and those that will exist in the future. I don't know if my responsibilities as the Chairman for Personnel and Human Services will continue or if I will receive a new assignment from the Council Leadership.

I do have preferences, but for the good of the city I will accept, without hesitation and complete to the best of my ability, the responsibilities that are assigned to me.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve our community for the past 14 years as an At-Large City Councilor and I will bring with me the contacts and relationships that I have made during those years as tools to resolve challenges for the benefit of Ward No. 1 and the City as a whole.

As many of our neighbors already know, I am retired and can be reached at my home most any time at 508-399-6549. I am available most days or evenings for meetings with residents at their home or a local location of mutual choice to discuss concerns that they may have.

In closing, I would invite all residents and especially Ward No. 1 residents to attend the ceremonies and see first-hand your efforts of electing the candidates of your choice as they pledge to fulfill the responsibilities that you by your votes has placed upon them.

Respectfully,

Walter J. Thibodeau
