Attleboro Pastor, Principal Considers Run for State Senate

Jeffrey Bailey has filed paperwork with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance.

Grace Baptist Christian Academy Principal and Jeffrey Bailey has filed paperwork with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance and started an account in consideration of his run for state Senate.

"I have been encouraged by state leaders such as state Republican Committeewoman Angela Davis (of Foxborough) to run for the state Senate seat currently held by ," Bailey said. "I am aggressively exploring the possibility of a candidacy. I believe my 23 years experience as a community leader in Attleboro provides me with a perspective that will translate well into public service."

"I have been greatly concerned with the direction our Commonwealth has been taking for some time now," he added. "Poor fiscal stewardship, regulatory burdens on our businesses, and a state health care system that is making it difficult for businesses to hire workers demonstrate the need for new voices on Beacon Hill."

Bailey is no stranger to the political scene. He is often seen sitting in Attleboro City Council Chambers, where he has attended weekly city council committee and regular meetings. He has also stood up and on different matters.

"Jeff Bailey is a terrific candidate for Senate, he has dedicated his life to helping others and he knows how badly people are hurting right now," said Anglea F. F. Davis, Bristol/Norfolk GOP State Committeewoman and Women for Brown Coalition Chair. "It is about jobs and the economy, and that is a priority for Jeff Bailey."

Bailey lives in Attleboro with his wife, Lorraine, and he has two children, Andrea and Adam. He holds a bachelor’s degree in religious studies and a master’s degree in biblical studies.

A Michigan native, Pastor Bailey arrived at in 1988 after serving as an assistant pastor at a church in Washington state. He established Grace Baptist Christian Academy in 2001, and the school today offers organized educational programs for students in pre-kindergarten through Grade 12. Bailey served as the school’s first principal until being appointed its superintendent at the conclusion of the 2009-10 academic year.
