Five Running for a Pair Board of Selectmen Seats

Seekonk will have five candidates to choose from this April.

Seekonk voters will have five candidates to choose from this April when voting for to fill seats on the Board of Selectmen.

Current Chairman David Parker is seeking reelection following the end of his term, and current Selectman John Whelan had previously announced that he will step down at the end of this term.

A field of four others, Robert Blanchard, David Viera, Gary Sagar and Nelson Almeida, are vying to either displace Parker or fill Whelan’s vacant seat.

Blanchard and Sagar have announced their intentions to run and campaign as a team for this election.

All other races in town are uncontested.

Voters will cast their ballot for at least one new selectmen this April at the Seekonk High School from noon until 8 p.m.
