DiLisio, Reynolds Thanked For Service to City

Both councilors served for the past two years.

Outgoing city councilors Sara-Lynn Reynolds and Jay DiLisio were honored and thanked for their service Tuesday night at their final meeting in the City Hall chambers.

"It's truly been an honor and privilege to serve with these two people," Council Vice President Peter Blais said.

Blais and President Frank Cook presented Reynolds and DiLisio with a plaque.

"This group in particular has found a way to get along and make things happen," Reynolds said.

DiLisio echoed her statements.

"You are an amazing group and the city is going to continue to do amazing things," he said.

DiLisio, who was not re-elected this past November, was elected in Nov. 2011 and served since Jan. 2012. During his time on the council, he served as the chair of the Property and Claims Committee and as a member on the Public Safety and Emergency Management and Capital Improvements and City Development Committees.

DiLisio has also served as the adult mentor for the Attleboro Youth Commission.

After serving for the past two years, Reynolds did not run for re-election this year, instead throwing her hat in the ring for State Senate in the Norfolk, Bristol and Middlesex Senate District. She has chaired the Personel and Human Services Committee while serving on the Budget and Appropriations and Licenses Committees.

Newcomers Ronald Churchill and Heather Porreca were elected in November and will fill the At-Large seats left open by Dilisio and Reynolds.
