City Delays Trash Service Due to Hurricane

Trash and recycling regularly picked up on Mondays will be picked up Tuesday. Further delays are possible depending on what happens with Hurricane Sandy.

As Hurricane Sandy approaches land, Attleboro Solid Waste Administrator Cheryl Perry announced Saturday afternoon that there will be no city trash service on Monday. Trash and recycling regularly picked up on Mondays will be picked up Tuesday, but there could be further delays depending on what happens with the storm.

"We really don't want residents putting out their trash barrels and recycling toters with the 80 mile an hour winds expected with Hurricane Sandy," Perry wrote in an email to Attleboro Patch.

With Monday service delayed to Tuesday, this means Tuesday service will be delayed to Wednesday and so forth. The trash schedule is tentative because nobody, even the so-called experts, is certain about Sandy's schedule.
