Central Congregational Church: Snap a Photo with Santa; Help Save a Life

Church offers photos with Santa in an effort to support suicide prevention program.

The Central Congregational Church is hosting photos with Santa for cause.

On Saturday, December 3rd from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Santa will be available for holiday photos inside Margaret Kay Fellowship Hall at Central Congregational Church, 115 Commonwealth Ave. in Attleboro Falls.

The photos with Santa event comes with a twist, as organizers are collecting a $5 donation per sitting and asking visitors to bring their own cameras to snap a photo. Why? The donations will benefit the The Trevor Project, a national organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.

"The Trevor Project is a wonderful organization that is doing work that truly benefits the LGBTQ community," said local activist Joe Lazzerini. "They're reaching out and providing a positive message to gay youth that life does get better and that this is not the end of the line."

"They provide a 24/7 hotline for youth to call into to seek adivce about lifes obstacles, being gay, being different, and about coming out of the closet," he added. "Life has so much future for the LGBTQ community and ending your life is not worth it. "Those that bully others are in the wrong."

More than a year ago, Lazzerini created an It Gets Better Video after the Trevor project announced their national campaign to end bullying and suicide among LGBT youth.

"Being different is a good thing but most importantly being proud and accepting who you're is even better," he said.
