Campaigning at the Farmers Market

Candidates George Ross and Joe Kennedy III stop by the Attleboro Farmers Market on its final day.

The final hour of the final day of the 2012 Attleboro Farmers Market season included a visit from congressional candidate Joe Kennedy III. The Democrat and his staff purchased items late Saturday morning and he posed for photos with various people, including market President Heather Porreca and her family. Kennedy also spoke with City Councilor Jonathan Weydt, who said he has a picture of him with his daughter from when they were 8 years old.

A group of Kennedy supporters held a banner and signs across the street from the market. City Councilor Jeremy Denlea stood with the group.

State Rep. George Ross was at the market earlier in the morning. He and his supporters later moved down to the corner of Park and Pleasant streets to hold signs and wave at passersby. Among those standing with Ross were fellow state Rep. Betty Poirier, City Councilor Jay DiLisio, School Committee member Brenda Furtado and frequent Attleboro-Seekonk Patch contributor Richard Lunt.
