A Letter from Sen. James Timilty

The recently re-elected state senator writes a letter to the people of Attleboro and Seekonk.

The following letter was submitted by state Sen. James Timilty, whose Bristol & Norfolk District includes Seekonk and most of Attleboro:

An Open Letter to the Residents of Attleboro and Seekonk,

It is with great humility and gratitude that I write to thank the residents of Attleboro and Seekonk for the privilege and honor to serve you in the Massachusetts Senate for another two years. Over the past decade of knocking on doors and crisscrossing the district, I have enjoyed the opportunity to hear the voices of many parents, small business owners and concerned citizens.

Since I was first sworn in to the Massachusetts Senate in January of 2005, I have been working hard to implement change to address those concerns to improve our schools, invest in our economy and reduce wasteful spending and overregulation. I think my record shows that these have not been campaign promises but a proven record of action, and I thank you for your faith and continued support as I return to serve under a new two-year contract.

I would like to take a moment to publicly thank my family, particularly my wife Mary, whose strength allows me to continue to serve others. I would also like to thank the many loyal supporters and friends who have stood by my side throughout the years and long campaign seasons. You have generously contributed your time and effort to my campaign, over the past year and many before it, and I could not be more grateful.

I additionally want to thank my opponent, Pastor Jeff Bailey, for being my colleague in this campaign and for our cordial discussions, publicly about the issues and privately about our families. Even the media reports of this race always described it as civil and that is a testament to his character and our mutual respect. I wish him continued success and applaud his continuing commitment to serve his community.

Thank you again for the honor of representing you in the Massachusetts Senate. Should you ever need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at 617-722-1222 or by email at James.Timilty@MASenate.gov.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

With every good wish, Senator Jim Timilty
