Water Main Break at High School Results in Early Dismissal

School will resume as normal Wednesday.

Update 5 p.m. Tuesday:

Attleboro Principal Bill Runey said school will resume as usual Wednesday after a water main break resulted in an early dismissal Tuesday.

Runey said changes made to Tuesday night's after school activities still apply. Attleboro boys' and girls' basketball games Tuesday night were moved to North Attleboro.

Below is the email Runey said to parents Tuesday night:

Dear AHS Community,

Thanks to the hard work of our Facilities Department, school will reopen as usual on Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who adjusted to this inconvenient situation! We also appreciate Bloom Transportation for their quick response to our need for an early dismissal.

Although the repair is complete, changes that were made to ON CAMPUS events for today still apply.

Tuesday 1 p.m.:

A water main break in the "A" building of Attleboro High School resulted in the early dismissal of students Tuesday.

Below is an email sent from Principal Bill Runey to parents:

At 11:30am today, we had a water break in A-building.

Due to the fact that water is shut off to the entire campus, we will be dismissing students from Attleboro High School at 12:45pm today. Bloom will have busses in place to make this happen.

The status of after-school activities is pending. An announcement will be forthcoming.

We do not know how long this will take to repair. Please stay tuned for updates.
