Teacher Arrested on Suspicion of Enticing Child

Marco Correia had resigned from his position at Hurley Middle School prior to the arrest.

A former English teacher and basketball coach at in Seekonk was arrested Friday on suspicion of enticing a child under the age of 16 and accosting and annoying a person of the opposite sex, according to television station WPRI in Providence. Marco Correia, 27, was held on $5,000 bail and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for Nov. 7, according to WPRI.

WPRI reported:

The interim superintendent tells Eyewitness News Correia was placed under administrative leave after she received a complaint a couple of weeks ago, and that Correia resigned from teaching at the school soon after.
