UPDATED: Seekonk Sees Flickers of Power Restoration

According to National Grid, approximately 3,000 Seekonk homes are still without power; National Grid estimates all homes will be restored by Sunday, Sept. 4.

Seekonk residents located along Route 44 and parts of Newman Avenue now have power due to the efforts of National Grid and Department of Public Works employees. Power has also been restored at . Traffic lights at the intersection of Arcade Avenue are now functional.

But some residents aren't out of the dark yet. According to National Grid, 3,003 homes in Seekonk are still without power. They expect to have everything up and running by Sunday, Sept. 4, according to their website.

"There's a number of homes in the north end still without power," he said, noting crews have been working in the south, north and central ends of town since Sunday.

According to Department of Public Works Superintendent Robert Lamoureux, most roads are clear but Elm Street is closed. Debris is still in Tullson and Willow avenues.
