Seekonk Police Log: OUIs, Mailbox Smashing

Nine arrests are reported for July 16 to the early morning of July 23.

The reported the following recent arrests (an arrest does not indicate a conviction):

July 16

  • *10:06 p.m. Deborah Faye Martel, 57, of Pawtucket was arrested at 35 Newman Ave. following a traffic stop due to what the police log states was "erratic driving." She allegedly had backed into another vehicle and left the scene. Martel was arrested on suspicion of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving an accident scene after property damage. She was also accused of a marked lanes violation.

July 17

  • 1:15 a.m. A 16-year-old male was arrested at 22 Letendre Road after a homeowner reported a person in a pick-up truck was smashing mailboxes. The teen was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle without a license and wanton destruction of property worth less than $250.

July 18

  • 2:39 p.m. Edward Paul Medeiros, 47, of East Providence was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of shoplifting at the on Fall River Avenue.

July 20

  • 11:18 a.m. Two Rhode Island women were arrested at the Stop & Shop on Highland Avenue. Priscilla Marie Santos, 28, and Maria Ulmina Santos, 69, were arrested on suspicion of larceny over $250.

July 21

  • 11:56 p.m. Heather J. Wells, 34, of Seekonk was arrested outside Benny's on Taunton Avenue on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

July 22

  • Early a.m. Henrique Nelson DaSilva of Pawtucket was arrested at 35 Newman Ave. following a call about a vehicle crash with property damage. He was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, drinking alcohol from an open container in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle after his license had been suspended. He was also accused of a marked lanes violation. A 29-year-old man who was also at the scene was taken into protective custody.

July 23

  • 2:59 a.m. Two Rhode Island women were arrested following a traffic stop at the Rhode Island/Massachusetts border on Fall River Avenue. Michelle E. Francis, 23, of East Providence was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. She was also accused of failing to yield. Laura A. Baumgardner, 22, of Charlestown was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of possessing a Class D drug.
