Route 95 Crash Sends One to Hospital Thursday

A crash on Route 95 halted traffic Thursday afternoon in the midst of a snowstorm.

A 21-year-old North Providence man was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital Thursday after a two-car crash on Route 95 in the midst of a heavy snowstorm.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the occupant's 2003 Ford Focus collided with a 1996 Honda Civic on Route 95 North near Exit 4 at approximately 1:50 p.m.

State Police said injuries were minor.

The accident caused backup in the area for approximately a half and hour.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
