Rape Reported in Seekonk

The suspect is also accused of kidnapping and intimidation.

A Cranston man is in custody following a reported rape early Saturday morning at Mary's Motor Lodge in Seekonk. The incident involved multiple victims of multiple crimes, Seekonk Police Capt. Craig Mace wrote in an email to Seekonk Patch.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after 12 a.m. following a call by a "female reporting being assaulted," according to the police log.

The 59-year-old Cranston man was arrested on suspicion of rape, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness and threat to commit a crime. One woman was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital, according to the police log. A 19-year-old woman who was at the motel was arrested on a warrant. It is not clear if she was the same woman who was taken to the hospital.

Mace said he could not provide a police report or more information because the suspect had been arraigned at Taunton District Court.

Well Amy. time to wake up. It does not matter where you live. the bad guys can get you. And as this story explains can not protect you but only take a report after the crimes. If everyone would lose the "That doesnt happen around here" paradigm then we can start to protect our selve and our children effectively. Todd Ouellet-Seekonk

Amy, Do you think people in Dover think of us from Seekonk as lowlifes? I mean seekonk is a stink hole compared to Dover. Nobody from Seekonk ever does anything bad. I seem to remember a recent former selectman that was taken in on domestic battery charges. Not to mention his little dance on his desk at a town meeting. Come on people. Open your minds.

Yes, I agree with you, Tony

With all due respect Amy, crime is everywhere... And I live in a nice area...

And if you give the motel a call, you will see "no children allowed" Because of the clients they bring in
