Police K-9 Assists in Arrest of Attleboro Man

Michael Cote of Attleboro was arrested for violating a restraining order and resisting arrest.

An Attleboro man was arrested Monday night after allegedly he sent Attleboro and State Police on a foot search on that involved a K-9.

Michael Cote, 29, of 43 Belair Ave. was charged with violating a restraining order, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to Attleboro Police Det. Sgt. Arthur Brillon.

Police first responded at 10:10 p.m. Monday, Brillon said.

According to a statement from the Massachusetts State Police, Cote kicked in the door to his ex-girlfriend's house, then fled when he learned she was in the basement and had called 911.

Brillon said police learned Cote was possibly in the Highland Avenue area at approximately 11:40 p.m. With the assistance of State Police and Cumberland Police, Attleboro Police found Cote at 540 Highland Avenue hiding under a red SUV.

State Police said a K-9 named Drago was used in the search.

"Drago tracked through backyards, through the neighborhood, and located the subject hiding underneath a parked car," State Police said.
