Milford Man Dies After Seekonk Driver Hits Vehicle on Route 495

Seekonk resident David Cooney's Jeep hit Brian Fuller's stopped Taurus on Route 495. Fuller was pronounced dead on Wednesday night.

A Wednesday morning crash on Route 495 involving a Seekonk driver resulted in the death of a Milford man, according to a statement from the Massachusetts State Police.

Brian M. Fuller, 24, of Milford, was pronounced deceased the night of Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Boston Medical Center. According to officer reports, a Jeep driven by David Cooney, 36, of Seekonk, crashed into Fuller's stopped Taurus approximately 2:30 a.m. earlier in the morning. As a result of the impact, the Taurus flipped over.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Nicholas Canavan indicates that a 2002 Ford Taurus operated by Mr. Fuller lost control and struck a guardrail, stopping the vehicle with no lights on, between the right and middle travel lanes. The reason why Mr. Fuller initially lost control and hit the guardrail is not known at this time, according to the statement.
