Update: Man Wipes Out Two Cars, Crashes into Attleboro Bike Store [VIDEO]

A 73-year old Attleboro man crashed his Ford Explorer Truck into Union Cycle.

An elderly man wiped out two cars and then crashed his pickup into a Union Cycle on Pleasant Street in Attleboro.

John Leggett Sr., 73, of Attleboro was getting a sandwich from the in Attleboro when he lost control of his vehicle, hit two other vehicles including a van and a Volkswagon, then crashed through the front of

Ron Carlson, an employee at Union Cycle, was working in the back of the store when it he heard the loud bang. He could not get to Leggett, whose door was pinned shut by debris. Carlson told the driver to stay put and called 911.

Leggett was shaken up by the ordeal. He refused medical attention and suffered only minor scrapes. With a walking cane in hand and still carrying his sandwich bag, Leggett was escorted to an cruiser, where he was kept to stay warm.

A family member was called to the scene to take Leggett home.

Attleboro Police could not say at the scene whether Leggett would be cited. Sgt. James MacDonald, however, later said it was likely that Legget would be cited but would not confirm until the investigation was complete. MacDonald said Leggett told police he slammed on the brakes, clearly that was not the case, according to MacDonald.
