'I'm a Drug Dealer and You'll Never Catch Me'

This week garnered some eye-popping arrests throughout the region.

"I'm a Drug Dealer and You'll Never Catch Me"...A Woonsocket man was arrested this week after . It apparently all started when the man was attempting to leave a local home, but found that his passage was blocked by another vehicle in the road. That prompted the man to yell at an officer nearby, who was directing traffic, to "do something."The vehicle blocking the road drove away, but the man reportedly continued to yell, cursing at the police officer and reportedly saying "That's why you f---ing cops will not catch me. You're too f---ing obvious. I'm a drug dealer and you'll never catch me." The officer motioned for the man to stop his vehicle, but he refused, instead continued yelling while driving slowly on the wrong side of the road. The officer eventually got the man to stop, at which point he yelled that police were harrassing him and that he was going to the station to file a complaint. According to reports, the man then cut the wheel towards the officer, knocking him backwards with the vehicle and missing his foot by only an inch. The vehicle hit the curb and then sped off. The man was charged with felony assault with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, failure in obedience to a police officer and laned roadway violations.

Get Your Food Off My Property...Attleboro police were called to a local home this week after . When the food thrower was asked by his neighbor to not throw food into the street because his dog would eat it from the ground, a verbal argument ensued. The food-throwing neighbor then allegedly began throwing dirt at his neighbor and told him to "shut the [expletive] up before I [expletive] your wife." The two neighbors said they had an ongoing dispute over property lines, but that they did not want to press charges against each another.

An Unusual Golf Drive...Portsmouth police were led on an  golf course this past weekend. It all started when an officer reportedly observed a vehicle drive through a stop sign nearby. When the officer approached the vehicle in a parking lot, the driver, a 29-year-old Bristol man, drove around the officer and then down a road, ultimately crashing into a fence. Officers caught up with the man and attempted to arrest him, but he pulled away and began running through the golf course. Police ran after him and eventually caught him at the northern end of the course. He was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, eluding police and resisting arrest.

That's One Way to Use a Baseball Glove...North Kingstown police arrested a 41-year-old Providence man last week on a felony charge of heroin possession after . According to the report, police allegedly found a plastic CVS bag inside a baseball glove during a search of the man's vehicle after his arrest. Inside the plastic bag, officers reporteldy found several syringes, a plastic spoon with what appeared to be a light tan powdery substance (which later tested positive for heroin) inside. When police questioned him about the items, the man told police he had given a hitchhiker a ride home and let him put a bicycle in the trunk, though police noted that the trunk was filled with closing. He also allegedly added that anything in the black jacket belonged to the hitchhiker. Police did not find a black jacket.

Coital Encounter on the Cliff Walk...An out-of-town couple were caught off-guard this week when Newport police . According to reports, the 43-year-old Providence man had his genitals exposed while the 27-year-old Woonsocket woman had one of her pant legs off and was also exposing herself. Reports said the two were “more concerned with kissing and touching each other” than getting dressed, and officers had to tell them to put their clothes on multiple times. Both were cited for indecent exposure. The man was also arrested for violating a no-contact order.
