Grand Jury Indicts Attleboro Man Accused of Child Rape

Dean Abjorbson pleaded innocent this week.

An Attleboro man accused of child rape was indicted by a Grand Jury this week.

According to District Attorney Spokesperson Ashley Bendikson, Dean Abjornson, 44 of 253 S. Main St has been indicted by a Bristol County Grand Jury.

He pleaded innocent at Fall River Superior Court Tuesday.

Abjorbson was originally held on $100,000 bail, however his bail was reduced in Superior Court to $25,000 over the objections of prosecutors, Bendikson said.

His arrest last month came after police were informed by a teacher in the Attleboro Public School System that a student had made sexual assault accusations.

The student told police that Abjornson had been assaulting her from the time she was approximately "four or five" until she was approximately 13, according to police reports.

Abjorbson has also been arrested twice in the past for domestic assault and battery - once in 2004 and again in 2006.
