The principal and assistant pastor at Grace Baptist Christian Academy was reportedly held on $25,000 bail Tuesday at Attleboro District Court and charged with molesting one of his students.

The Attleboro Sun Chronicle is reporting that Pastor Jeffery Nichols of Fourth St. in Attleboro turned himself into police on Monday and, according to Assistant District Attorney Erin Aiello, admitted to molesting a student from 2008 through 2013.  Grace Baptist Christian Church Pastor Jeff Bailey, who is challenging for State Rep. Paul Heroux's seat in November, told the Sun Chronicle that he was in "complete shock" when he learned, and immediately fired Nichols.

It takes a lot of courage to come forward and take action about being sexually abused as a child. This is not an easy thing to do, and it is extremely rare that a child predator has only one victim. Some have many. Child predators need to be kept far away from kids forever. So let's hope that anyone who may have knowledge or may have been harmed by Jeffrey Nichols, will find the courage to come forward and contact law enforcement, no matter how long ago it happened. Do not report your abuse to the church officials, they are not the proper officials to be investigating child sex crimes. Silence only hurts, and by speaking up there is a chance for healing, exposing the truth, and therefore protecting others. Judy Jones, SNAP Midwest Associate Director, 636-433-2511, SNAPJudy@gmail.com "SNAP" the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, is the world's oldest and largest support group for clergy abuse victims. SNAP was founded in 1988 and has more than 15,000 members. Despite the word "priest" in our title, we have members who were molested by religious figures of all denominations, including nuns, rabbis, bishops, and Protestant ministers and increasingly, victims who were assaulted in a wide range of institutional settings like summer camps, athletic programs, Boy Scouts, etc

the average sexual predator has between 200-300 victims. I think the police should take a good look at his phone records, computer, both at home and in the office. Plus keep putting out the message to young people to come forward if they have any concerns. Thanks for speaking up for SNAP. It's a great organization. The UN is doing a series of educational programs and inquiries into clergy sexual abuse. It's online if you to to the SNAP site.

here's an article on the UN hearings on the sexual abuse of children by clergy, this one focused on the Catholic Church but it happens in all religious communities. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/16/catholic-church-sex-abuse-un_n_4609246.html
