Gettaway Driver in Formula and Toy Theft Kept in Jail


According to the Sun Chronicle, Attleboro Police are charging a Pawtucket resident for causing a car crash in South Attleboro.

Candace Martin, 34, of 86 Bloomfield St. in Pawtucket is accused of driving the getaway vehicle after two accomplices fled the North Attlboro Wal Mart with about $2,500 in baby formula and toys. The vehicle then crashed in Attleboro with another vehicle.

The 67-year-old driver of the other vehicle was injured and transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Martin was released on Monday but then ordered held in jail after an Attleboro judge heard the allegations and set bail at $300, which Martin’s lawyer said she could not afford.
