FBI Needs Help Finding Suspect in Bank Robberies

The man allegedly robbed banks in Seekonk and Rhode Island.

The FBI and police departments in Seekonk and Rhode Island are asking for help from the public as they try to catch an alleged serial bank robber dubbed the Bearded Bandit.

Authorities say the man in February and committed similar crimes in the Rhode Island municipalities of Cranston, Warwick and North Providence

"The suspect approached the bank teller, asked for money with no security or dye packs, and stated he had a weapon under his sweatshirt," the FBI Boston Division states on its website. "After receiving money, the suspect fled in an unknown direction."

The suspect is described as a middle-aged white male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall with dark hair and a dark beard.

The FBI is offering a $2,500 reward for the Bearded Bandit's capture. Bank of America is offering a $2,500 reward. If you have any information, call the FBI at 617-742-5533.
