Fake Benjamins Enter Attleboro

Police say they look like real hundred-dollar bills.

A man with a goatee is allegedly scamming local businesses by using fake hundred-dollar bills that look like real money and pass counterfeit tests. The con is not realized until an attempt is made to deposit the money at banks, according to the Attleboro Police Department.

WPRI-TV reported:

Attleboro Police Det. Sgt. Arthur Brillon tells Eyewitness News a male in his twenties, with a goatee, who appears Caucasian but who could be Hispanic, passed the fake bills to several businesses, including donut shops.
