Emergency Shelter to be Located to Hurley Middle School

According to Fire Chief Jack, the school will be open before the full impact of the storm hits Seekonk.

Seekonk town officials are gearing up for Hurricane Irene by prepping emergency equipment and plans to open the Kevin. M. Hurley Middle school as an emergency shelter before the worst of the storm hits.

According to Fire Chief Alan Jack, the space will have generators should there be massive power loses. But food and bedding will not be provided. He encourages neighbors to reach to another should emergency situations.

"We're going to try, but we may not get to you quickly," he said, noting downed trees could detour emergency vehicles.
