Emergency Shelter Closed Sunday Night

According to Fire Chief Alan Jack, the emergency shelter located at the Kevin M. Hurley Middle School only received one guest.

Though widespread power outages were reported throughout Seekonk starting Sunday afternoon, only one resident utilized the service. About six volunteers manned the area.

Due to low attendance, Fire Chief Alan Jack said the shelter was closed late Sunday night.

The shelter lost power early morning Sunday. A generator was used. Showers would have been provided for guests but the public was encouraged to bring food and bedding.
