Driver in Fatal Crash Expected in Court Tuesday

The man accused of driving drunk and killing a 24-year-old woman last Thursday night when he crashed his car head-on into hers on North Main Street in Attleboro is expected to appear at the Attleboro District Court Tuesday afternoon, according to various media reports.

Attleboro police announced last week that Jason Kwolek, 32, of Pawtucket would be charged with motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of alcoholic beverages and operating negligently, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and a marked lanes violation. The Sun Chronicle reported Monday that a charge of manslaughter would be added.

The family of Kaisha Guerrini, the North Attleborough resident and Norton native who was killed, was at the crash site Monday to collect donations for the woman's funeral. 

"We kind of need [the money], otherwise we're not going to get the funeral she deserves," Guerrini's brother Ethan told New England Cable News.

The family wants to hold a funeral with military honors, according to WPRI-TV in Providence. Guerrini was a a sergeant in the National Guard as well as a college student and mother of a 3-year-old son.

The Guerrini family also wants to get help for Kwolek's family.

"His child is going to be without a father," said Guerrini's aunt, Ann Lussier, to NECN. "The wife is going to be without a husband. And they've got to have help from somewhere. We're victims, they're victims, and we do care."
