District Attorney Identifies Attleboro Man Found Dead in Pond
Michael Gately, 49, of Attleboro was the man found in Mechanics Pond on Sunday.
Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter's office has released the name of the Attleboro man found dead in a pond across from in Larson Woods.
The body of Michael Gately, 49, of Attleboro was pulled from the water by Attleboro firefighters Sunday afternoon
"This was my brother-in-law may he rest in peace. We will miss you Mike," wrote Diane Smith of Westport in a post about Gately on Attleboro Patch Facebook .

A woman walking through the woods spotted Gately's body in the water late Sunday morning. Attleboro police officers, detectives and Acting Police Chief Kyle Heagney arrived on the scene to investigate.
Atteboro firefighters pulled Gately's body from the water, which was about two to three feet deep.

Heagney said the death did not appear to be a result of foul play but that the incident was still under investigation.
