Attleboro Man Held on $100,000 Cash Bail Following Rape Charges

An Attleboro man was accused of child rape this week.

An Attleboro man is being held on $100,000 cash bail after he was arrested earlier this week on rape charges.

Dean Abjornson, 44, of 253 S. Main St. was arrested on Monday and charged with rape of a child with force, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, possession of a firearm without an FID card, firearm stored improperly and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

According to court documents, Abjornson was arrested Monday after police were informed by a teacher in the Attleboro Public School System that a student had made sexual assault accusations.

The student told police that Abjornson had been assaulting her from the time she was approximately "four or five" until she was approximately 13, according to the documents.

Abjonson was also found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm in his dresser drawer, which police found upon searching his house.

He is due back in court on Dec. 11.
