Attleboro Man Charged in Federal Drug Case

Doneri Aguilar Sandoval is arrested after authorities seize $4.2 million worth of crystal methamphetamine.

An Attleboro man will remain in federal custody following a court appearance Friday in Providence in which he was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. Doneri Aguilar Sandoval, 52, was arrested after federal authorities seized $4.2 million worth of crystal methamphetamine in an undercover sting, according to a press release from the office of U.S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha.

The seizure was the largest on record in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and the second-largest on record in New England, according to the press release.

The drugs were detected Dec. 5 by a Massachusetts State Police canine unit in a vehicle located in an East Walpole storage facility, the U.S. attorney says. Federal authorities had been tracking the vehicle prior to its shipment from California. Sandoval was supposed to pick up the drugs from a casino in Lincoln, R.I., the U.S. attorney alleges.
