UPDATE: Attleboro Man Arrested After Slashing; Victim Transported to ER

Attleboro Police Officers arrested a man after he allegedly slashed someone with a knife.

Attleboro Police arrested John Jung, 49, of Attleboro and charged him with assault and battery after he allegedly slashed another person with a knife Wednesday. 

Officers were called to Lamb and Ellis Street in Attleboro at approximately 3 pm Wednesday after receiving reports of a slashing. 

When officers arrived to the scene they found the victim, Patrick Alger,42, of Attleboro, on the ground. The victim, who is homeless, identified Jung as the man who cut him.

"After an investigation, John Jung was located nearby and arrested without incident," according to Attleboro Police Det. Sgt. Art Brillon.

Jung, who is also homeless, was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and held at the on $2,500 cash bail.

The victim was treated at Rhode Island Hospital. His condition is unknown.
