Accused Sex Offender Teacher Can Work in R.I.

Seekonk resident Patrick Doyle can work part-time on "odd jobs" for his family.

Patrick Doyle, a Seekonk resident and former teacher accused of various underage sex charges, was granted permission this week by a judge to work part-time doing "odd jobs" for his family in Rhode Island, according to the Taunton Gazette.

The newspaper reported:

Justice Thomas McGuire stipulated the 33-year-old Doyle must first contact his probation officer before driving from his Seekonk home into Rhode Island for the purpose of doing odd jobs for his family.

Doyle has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. Prosecutors say he had sex with a 14-year-old at his home and had sexual contact with another 14-year-old at Taunton High School, where Doyle worked as an eighth-grade social studies teacher until he was fired last month. He is also accused of sending explicit messages and photos, including at least one of his penis, to those teens and at least one other.

Lefteris Travayiakis, Doyle's attorney, has called the alleged victims  who were trying to sabotage his client's life and career. He said they had  so they could get his contact information to begin the text exchanges.

Doyle was released from custody on $150,000 bail in July. He wears a GPS bracelet and cannot be alone with underage girls, including the 11-year-old daughter of his live-in girlfriend, according to the Gazette.
