Obituary: Kathleen E. O'Neill

She was a teaching assistant with a passion for working with special-needs children.

Kathleen E. (Higginbotham) O'Neill, an Attleboro native who most recently lived in Riverside, died unexpectedly Feb. 2. She was 54.

O'Neill was born and raised in Attleboro as a daughter of Frank and Helen Higginbotham. She was a teaching assistant for Barrington Public Schools, where she was incredibly passionate about working with children with special needs.

She was a dedicated and loving daughter, mother, sister and friend to all who knew her.

O'Neill is survived by her son Christopher Tucker of Smithfield, R.I.; daughter Jennifer and her husband Richard Barrett of Milford, Conn.; brothers Robert Higginbotham of Plymouth, James Higginbotham of Springfield and Dana Higginbotham of Taunton as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Frank Higginbotham of San Juana, Puerto Rico.

There will be no calling hours prior to her funeral service. The service will take place Monday, Feb. 11, in the Foley-Hathaway Funeral Home, located at 126 South Main St. in Attleboro.
