Attleboro Obituary: Cecile J. Brais

Cecile J. Brais, 94, of Canterbury Woods, Attleboro and a lifelong resident of North Attleboro died Friday, January 24, 2014 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital. 

Born March 9, 1919 in North Attleboro, she was a daughter of the late Albert R. and M.A. Emma (Coutu) Brais.

Cecile lived on Eddy Street in North Attleboro for her entire life before moving to Canterbury Woods last year.

She was a 1936 graduate of North Attleboro High School and worked as the office manager at her family's lumber yard, A.R. Brais Lumber Co., for many years before retiring.  She also groomed animals out of her home for many years.

She was the beloved sister of the late Pauline S. Dery and Ronald A. Brias.

Her survivors include brother-in-law Edmond W. Dery Jr. and his children: Louise M. Dery Wells, Elizabeth M. Dery and John W. Dery and sister-in-law Helen W. Brais and her children: Ronald A. Brais, Kathleen Brais Benesh, Mary M. Moran, Keith S. Brais and Eliot T. Brias.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 28 at 8 a.m. from the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro followed by a Mass in St. Mary's Church, North Attleboro at 9 a.m.  Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
