I would like to thank all of those people who supported my candidacy and who voted for me on Election Day 2012.  7,497 voters marked their respective ballots for me.  I am humbled by their doing so.

In addition, I would like to thank everyone who voted; it is a precious and sacred right that we have in helping select those whom we believe are best suited for representing us at the varying levels of governmental service to our citizens.

I also wish to thank my opponent, Mr. Steven Howitt, for the excellent campaign he waged during this campaign season. I wish him well in his second term of office.

My debt of gratitude and deeply felt thanks go to those who worked on my campaign committee, and who helped infuse our campaign with energy and confidence in the quality of our message. Thank you for your service to these incredibly important concerns that challenge us on a daily basis to bring out the best in all of us as individuals and as citizens in the great state of Massachusetts.

It was an honor to be a candidate for this position and to be able to speak up for the issues that are dear to my heart, mind and spirit. I believe that these issues are still vitally important to all of us in Bristol County.

I am proud of what we accomplished and when I look at what we advocated for and worked towards, I promise you that I will continue to hold these issues in front of me and advocate for them every day of my life.

My long-time friend, Jim Houston, gave the following advice to me, which I think best sums up what we have all experienced throughout this campaign:

“You did not lose, you won another amazing experience in this life that very, very, very few men and women ever get to have. What enrichment for a life well lived!!!!”

Without the managerial expertise and boundless energy of my campaign manager, Andrew McLeod, this campaign would never have occurred. Andrew, you are a modern day alchemist because you took an old sow's ear and transformed it into a viable and important campaign. You are a miracle worker!

The bonds of friendship forged with Robert and Barbara Keating are deep and lasting. Robert, who is my campaign chair, was a guiding light of strength, vitality and wisdom to me.

I owe a deep debt of gratitude to my wife Carolyn; she has been absolutely amazing throughout this experience, and she has constantly given me the power to continue on this path. She has worked incredibly hard to make this run for the 4th Bristol District possible.

Any failings on the part of this campaign are on my shoulders. I am a better man for what all of the people have done to help, as well as oppose, me. Any successes made have been achieved because of selfless efforts by others in helping me do so. I think it is incredible what we did accomplish together with one another . . .

The support and friendship shared, especially, between everyone are invaluable to me. Please know that I will never forget the help folks have given my wife Carolyn and me. If there is anything, in turn, that I can do to be of help to you, please let me know and I will do everything in my power to assist you.

I ask for your continued support and prayers, and that you stay in touch with me to let me know how you are doing.

With much respect, admiration and love,

— Keith

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.

Politics is the best show in America. I love animals and I love politicians, and I like to watch both of 'em at play, either back home in their native state, or after they've been captured and sent to a zoo, or to Washington.
