Will the new and higher local taxes and fees cause voter unhappiness next year?
The City Council has unwisely followed "the puppet master", K.D., in approving a number of new revenue streams to the City . . . . which despite claims, are NOT obligated to be spend or even "ear-marked" for schools or public safety. It's all a phony-baloney, plastic banana slick marketing campaign by the current local regime.
What causes my wondering is those councilors who have indicated in the past a concern for the poor, the struggling, those scraping to get by every month.
Instead of creating new revenue streams which only make local government even more expensive, why was budget-cutting never even mentioned, let alone considered?

A few councilors showed courage by voting "no". The rest weaseled out. One would think that these councilors could recognize "smoke & mirrors" disingenuous hooey, such as law school grad, Jeremy Denlea. This is not rocket science, law school, or even close to it.
Pray tell, how do you like the idea of ponying up fifty bucks to the City every year just for the privilege of having and using a propane-fired outdoor grille? This is a good sample of the 'sneak attack' on local residents by the avaricious mayor . . with the cowardly Council blessing. There are some creeps on the Council who NEVER vote against any additional municipal spending. Are these "councilors" representing YOU . . and your wallet?
